Thanks for checking out our first Bustin' Wax blog entry. Our
intention is to provide the reader with immediate feedback on new
sports card releases, ranging from our personal opinions regarding the
product, product notes, collation reports and any other information
that is useful for the collector interested in new releases.
I've been a sports card collector since I was five years old and
fondly remember many trips my parents used to make to the local store
to satisfy my collecting urges. I mostly collected baseball and
football cards in my youth along with anything relating to the Green
Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. My passion for collecting lead me to
start my own sports card shop and eventually I landed at Krause
Publications. I've been a baseball and hockey price guide analyst since
1993 and remain an avid collector.
All of the Tuff Stuff pricing editors will contribute to this column, including myself (Joe Clemens, baseball and hockey), Bert Lehman (football and racing) and Steve Bloedow (basketball). We welcome all feedback and any suggestions that can help collectors, because that's what we're here for.
Upper Deck Artifacts Box Break
- 10 Packs - 4 cards per pack
-
Antiquity Artifacts Jersey - Jermaine Dye serial numbered to 199
-
Artifacts Apparel - Joel Zumaya serial numbered to 199
-
Divisional Artifacts - Ryan Zimmerman serial numbered to 199
-
Apparel Autograph - Greg Maddux redemption
Most collectors would have been happy with the Maddux pull since it
basically pays for the box. Artifacts offers an impressive autograph
lineup featuring Ripken Jr., Roger Clemens, Derek Jeter, Ken Griffey
Jr. etc ..., so collectors have a reasonable chance of pulling a star
autograph, as our box demonstrated. The base set is small at only 100 cards
and features rookie cards of Andrew Miller and Matsuzaka.
Upper Deck has announced the addition of several thousand game used
buy-back cards to 2007 Artifacts Baseball. The cards were acquired
from brands like SP Authentic, Pros & Prospects, Ultimate
Collection and SP Legendary Cuts to name a few. Collectors can find
highly collectible game used buy-back cards from MLB Superstars like
Roger Clemens, Ken Griffey Jr., Sammy Sosa, Greg Maddux and more.
